Special Educator's Blog Hop

I'm linking up with Tales of a Carolina Girl for the Special Educator's blog hop. She's another behavior support teacher! It's so tough to find other bloggers who do what we do, so I'm SO excited!

We fill out this adorable little questionnaire and link to an old post. I'm linking to my old post, Behavior Bank, which includes links to some of my behavior support posts.

Hop on over to the Special Educator Blog Hop, and check out the other awesome blogs!

  1. Your advise from above is so great! I taught 9 years in Spec Ed, but now I'm in general ed. But that advise--heartfelt and TRUE! Thanks for sharing it.

  3. Ah, I love what you said about if you question yourself, it's because you're a great teacher. That was so great for me to hear right now!! I will look into that whole brain teaching book, I hadn't heard of that before, thanks!

    1. Thanks, Brie! Your comment means a lot to me. There's a lot of guilt in special ed, and I had an a-ha moment where I realized it's actually a good thing to question yourself. Look up whole brain teaching videos, too, on youtube. My kiddos LOVE it!

  5. Hi, Kelly! I love the books that you have recommended to read, they are great resources! I question my self a lot, even in the summer I keep thinking how to improve my classroom. It's great to meet another teacher for students with special needs!

  6. Thank you for linking up! I'm so excited to have found another behavior support teacher. I wish you lived closer and we would have to get together to chat. There are only 2 other behavior support teachers in my county so my resources are limited as to who to get help from. I've never heard of Rick Lavoie so I'm excited to go watch those videos. I'll be reading your old blog posts here soon! Look forward to talking with you more.

    1. Me too, Jamie! I only have one other behavior support teacher out of my district, so it really feels limited! We'll have to keep in touch a lot! Watch Rick Lavoie's "Motivation Breakthrough" and "FAT City" DVDs. They're also on YouTube. He'll change the way you approach behavior support. I'm super excited to go through your blog, too!
